Let us Help People!

In April 11 years ago, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made a significant speech at the military parade held in celebration of the 100th birthday of President Kim Il Sung. In the speech, he said that the People’s Army should follow the traditions of the anti-Japanese guerrilla army to be the vanguard of consolidating the great army-people unity as firm as a rock, stressing that the People’s Army should continue to hold aloft the slogan “Let us help people!”, which was set forth by Chairman Kim Jong Il. He added with emphasis that the officers and men of the People’s Army, under the uplifted slogan, should do many good things for the people with the mind of devoting to their own parents and siblings and of taking good care of their homes and yards, thus fulfilling the mission and duty as the army of the people.

Saying that It Was Real Commemoration

One day in March, Juche 102 (2013), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was guiding the landing and anti-landing drill of the units of the Korean People’s Army when he personally set a fire position beside himself for the artillery women of the multiple rocket launcher of a sub-unit and pointed a target at a moment’s notice, and ordered them to smash it. Noting that he gave situations at short notice every time he inspected military units, he said that it is because today’s drill is directly connected with tomorrow’s combat. At his order, the artillery women promptly took their fire position with redoubled courage and confidence, and accurately hit and annihilated the target. He shook every hand of them and praised them for perfectly carrying out their sudden mission, saying that they were real crackshots. Then, he had a souvenir photograph taken with all of them saying that it was real commemoration. That is how a picture of love was taken on the training ground clouded with gunpowder smoke.

Uprooted Pillars

One day in March, Juche 74 (1985), when Changgwang Street was under construction in its second stage, Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the construction site. While learning in detail about the actual state of the housing construction, he came to know from the report of one of the officials that a garage was going to be built in the residential area. Looking at a newly-built folding screen-shaped high-rise apartment building, the Chairman asked how many flats it had. When he heard that it had 800 flats, the Chairman estimated that there would be more than 2 000 children. Then, he showed his anxiety that they would find nowhere to play if a garage is built behind the apartment building. He continued that the site of the garage under construction should be changed into an extensive playground for children. One of the officials disclosed his intention of proceeding with the building of the garage in progress and making a nice playground between the apartment building and the garage instead. Then, saying with a smile that the official must be reluctant to have the erected pillars pulled out, the Chairman instructed that there should be a garden and a park behind the apartment building so that all the children would play away from the street, and that all the concrete pillars should be uprooted for preparation of a broad playground for children. Later, the pillars for the garage were all removed, and our children, the pillars of the country, were able to play to their heart’s content on the playground built on the site of the garage.

Immortal Exploits Marked at Foot of Moran Hill

Immortal Exploits Marked at Foot of Moran Hill On the 16th of February, Juche 71 (1982), the reconstruction and expansion site of the Moranbong Stadium (in those days) was filled with burning passion, for Chairman Kim Jong Il personally visited the site to clarify the shortcut to the project. Because it was the birthday of the Chairman, an official earnestly requested him, who was about to set out for a field guidance, that he should have a rest that day and postpone his departure. Replying that he had to keep to his plan, the Chairman said as follows. Now that we have already planned to complete the upgrading and expanding project of Moranbong Stadium at all costs by the 70th birthday of President Kim Il Sung, every minute and second is precious for us. Furthermore, the President is painfully anxious about its slower progress than scheduled. We are going to have the President in the stadium completed on the highest level. How pleased the President will be! The Chairman continued that he felt the happiest when he saw the President satisfied, and that it always set his mind at ease.
