Greatest Pleasure

In January, Juche 104 (2015), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the newly built Pyongyang Mushroom Farm (then). Enjoying the panoramic view of the farm, he said with affection that a glance at its exterior alone could stir a sudden impulse to drop in. Having looked all around the farm, he was very pleased to see a wonderful structure for people at the beginning of the new year. Then, he wore a broad smile on his face, saying that he wanted every day in the year to be a happy day like that. Our people’s growing happiness, this is just the greatest pleasure of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

What is Pleasing

It happened when the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was inspecting a building-materials production base. One of the leading officials of the factory courteously expressed his determination to not only produce more building materials with lower costs but also surpass the leading countries in tile industry by always relying on science and technology. Saying that the officials’ determination full of confidence sounded like a song of socialist march, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un repeatedly praised them for not coveting others, which was just what appealed to him. The officials realized once again that it is a patriotic trait to love ours, not others, and to create ours of better quality in larger amounts.

In a Big Way

One day in January, Juche 95 (2006), Chairman Kim Jong Il made a visit to the newly built e-library at Kim Chaek University of Technology. Making a round of the e-library, he gave valuable instructions before saying that it needed to be perfected in every aspect and that his inspection led him to the idea of further perfecting it in a far-sighted way as required by the era of information industry. Soon after that, the officials at the university received the shocking news that the Chairman saw to it that a plan was made to further enhance the service capacity of the e-library. They held a consultation with the corresponding officials to make a plan and presented it to the Chairman. Considering the plan, the Chairman blamed them for having made such a conservative plan. Then, he set forth a staggeringly daring plan saying that no matter how tense the financial situation of the country may be, the e-library should be equipped with up-to-date facilities looking far ahead in the future.

In the Fighting Spirit of Those Days

One day of the vigorous struggle to celebrate the Sixth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea with political enthusiasm and glorious labour achievements, Chairman Kim Jong Il met with the officials who had been dispatched to all provinces for guidance to emphasize that the first month review of the 100-day campaign should be conducted not in the way of addressing the successes only, but in the way of practical significance. Then, he told them in a meaningful tone of the fighting spirit and will of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) transportation corps men in the days of the Fatherland Liberation War. He continued: During the war those corps men never yielded to the steep Chol Pass nor panicked in the midst of showers of bombs and machine-gun bullets from the enemy planes. Always thinking about their obligation to carry out their combat tasks without fail, they managed to guarantee the victory in battles by supplying shells to the fronts through a hail of bullets and steep passes. Noting that however difficult it might be to attain the goal of the 100-day campaign, it was incomparable to crossing Chol Pass in lorries through the shower of bullets, the Chairman convinced them that achieving the gigantic goal was just feasible only when they worked in the fighting spirit shown by the brave soldiers in the Fatherland Liberation War.

Priority to Interests of People

Chairman Kim Jong Il paid a visit to ready-to-open Kwangbok Area Supermarket on one freezing day in December, Juche 100 (2011). Being briefed by the official concerned, he looked round the departments on the first floor. Learning about the sanitary goods produced by a unit, he instructed that those good quality goods should be sold to our people. And when he reached the furniture department, he talked about a piece of furniture he had seen before, stressing the need to set up that furniture-making equipment since the supermarket was built in the Kwangbok area. Indeed, every step of his field-guidance showed the noble idea of the Chairman, who thought only about the happiness of people whenever he came across anything. That day he checked every aspect in relation to the management of the store such as the time of its opening, the prices of goods, the possibility of constant goods supply, etc. He stressed that the store could prove useful only when it was opened as soon as possible so that people would be free to purchase what they want. He taught that the essence of socialist commerce lies in the fact that all activities should be conducted for people from start to finish.

Declaration to Open Personally

Patriotism is boundless devotion and commitment for the country and the people. It was the last day of Juche 100 (2011) when tears of blood over the sudden demise of Chairman Kim Jong Il were overwhelming across the country. On the day, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sitting with some officials solemnly declared that he would open the door to the dawn of Korea from then on instead of Chairman Kim Jong Il, who used to suffer all sorts of difficulties for the country and the people throughout his life, greeting the dawn of the country before anybody else after working until three or four at dawn. The officials were deeply impressed by his iron-willed declaration to turn our socialist country into the best one envied by the world true to the intentions of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il at the cost of devoting his all.
