One day in May 2016, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the exhibition hall where the machinery and equipment manufactured as labor gifts of loyalty to the Seventh Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea were on display. What attracted his attention there were some textbooks displayed in the lobby of the Technical Innovation Hall. The officials were satisfied with the sight of the textbooks for kindergarten children, primary school pupils, middle school pupils and university students. Watching one by one the kindergarten textbooks, the references for developing children’s intellectual faculties and the primary school textbooks, he said with great satisfaction that they were well compiled and the covers were well designed appealing to the mentality of children. Having examined all the textbooks including those for universities, he told the officials that it is the intention of the Party to make ours a country of education and that one of the important issues for it is to provide the children and students with domestically-made schoolbags, textbooks and notebooks. He stressed the need to provide many quality textbooks to our children and students in the future, adding that due attention should be paid to textbooks since they are very important for education.
