The research group in the Semiconductor Institute including Rim Chang Sik, Ri Won U has made a great achievement in the researchwork to develop the differential pressure transducer necessary for measuring the fluid amount.
This project is the tiezo resistive differential pressure transducer which measures the high-temperature steam fluid in the thermal power station and the flowing amount of fluid with high pressure and temperature in the chemical industry.
The research group selected a lot of materials appropriate to different differential pressure forming modes, reliable in high pressure and temperature and sensitive to the variation of pressure and designed and trialed while precisely changing the shape and structure of the diaphragm, thereby solving many scientific and technological problems such as the material and structure of the diaphragm, the manufacture, and the placement of the diaphragm, and the sensitivity and the precision.
By doing so, they have opened a bright prospect of developing with our own technology the differential pressure measuring device which is cheap and has great precision of 1%FS in measuring the pressure difference of various bands from 1 to 50KPa

Li Gyong Il, lecturer of the Faculty of Automation Engineering has developed a cubic structure attitude control experimental instrument.
Though in need of reference data, he mathematically modeled the geometrical size, material selection, centre of mass of each part and inertial moment to develop a system of attitude stabilization control system and confirmed the reliability of the instrument through scores of simulations and linkage experiments.
The cubic structure attitude control experimental instrument he developed is a valuable one not only for the students’ experiment but also for checking up the efficiency of the attitude control algorithm used in the ultra-miniature equipment.
Not satisfied with his result, he keeps making a profound research to develop the attitude stabilization control system with jump-up and corner as a fulcrum.

National Public Presentation Meeting and Exhibition of Welding Science and Technology was held from May 13 to 14 under the auspices of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.
This exhibition was attended by teachers, researchers, postgraduates and officials from scores of units including Kim Chaek University of Technology, the Welding Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences, Pyongyang University of Architecture, Pyongyang University of Machine Engineering and Kumgang Refinery in Munchon.
They presented over 700 pieces of valuable papers and exhibitions that can be contributed to the research and development of welding methods and equipment and making welding materials Juche-oriented, upholding our Party’s idea of attaching importance to science and technology.
The “Inversion-style multi-functional welder”, which was newly invented by brainstorming, took the first place in team standings. The “Titanium slag linking welding rod” presented by Jong Song Gil, a teacher from the College of Materials Science and Technology, took the first place in the final standing of individuals. “Research on the titanium concentrate linking welding rod” by Ri Won Jun, a teacher from the College of Materials Science and Technology and other six papers took the second place. In addition, “Device for measuring the length of the electric arc” by Kang Yun Sok and other 3 pieces took the third place. Thus, KUT took the first place in total.

The 34th National Sci-Tech Festival was held in the New Technology Innovation Hall of the Three-Revolution Exhibition from Apr. 23 to May 3, Juche108(2019).
Participated in this festival scientists, technicians and officials from 500-odd units of committees, ministries, central organs and provinces (cities and towns), which was held with the topic of “the spirit of self-reliance and the might of science and technology”.
The festival was classified into several fields including electric power, metallurgy, chemistry, machine-building, railway transport, light industry, agriculture, IT departments, where a lot of scientific and technological achievements made in ensuring domestic production of raw and other materials and equipment, and in making the productive processes modern and completing the independent structure of economy were displayed and presented, and exchanges of new technology and services of new products were also made.
Most of technologies on display from our university were accepted in the festival so as to win the special prize: a special prize to the “Integrated Production System of Sinuiju Cosmetics Factory”of Kim Ryong Su, a head of department of Automatic Engineering Faculty and two technologies, the first prizes to 8 technologies including “Secure I &A Management in Electric Power Supply and Cross Contract System”of Ri Su Chol, a head of College of Information Science and Technology and the seconds to 8 technologies including “Integrated Bridge System” of Hwang In Chol, a lecturer of Ship and Ocean Engineering Faculty.
Particularly, a research team whose boss is Ri Mu Chol, a head of Bio-engineering Institute won the collective special prize and the first prize by opening up the bright prospect for producing in our own way medical equipment and the vacuum evaporator, thus clearly demonstrating the strenuous efforts of our scientists who are fulfilling the mission of the eldest son university of the country.

Kim Il Hyok, lecturer of the Faculty of Resources Probing Engineering, has developed the wireless elastic wave measuring instrument which is widely used in practice.
This instrument is used to rationally determine the covering layer of a waterway tunnel by measuring the strength of the bedrock.
Newly developed elastic wave measuring instrument is composed in the form of radio system and graph display and sensors are installed so as to serve as a measuring duster in any position without confusion. Therefore it is very fast and measuring work is done conveniently and the best thing about this instrument is that it has no telegraphic interruption and noise.
