The teaching staff and students of Kim Chaek University of Technology held a variety of sports and amusement games to mark the Day of the Shining Star, a greatest national holiday.
The teaching staff of each unit competed in volleyball, table tennis and badminton from February 3 to 15. The final matches were played on February 15.
The College of Mechanical Science and Technology won volleyball and table tennis events by fully displaying the collective spirit and high techniques they had cultivated through mass sporting activities in the past.
In the tennis and badminton events, the IT Institute and Distance Education College took the first place respectively.
In the total rankings the College of Mechanical Science and Technology placed first, IT Institute finished runner-up and Distance Education College came third.
On February 16, students played various sports and amusement games, namely volleyball, running with balls in arms and returning to the turn blindfolded, at the university gym, heating up the festive mood.
In the games they demonstrated high sports skills, collective spirit, unity, and noble mental and moral traits.

On the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star(February 16), one of the greatest national holidays, a celebratory art performance was given by the teaching staff and students of the College of Information Science and Technology at the university gymnasium on February 15.
The performance started with narrative and chorus Ode to Comrade
In male vocal solo and chorus The General Drives White Horse, female chorus White Snowflake of Longing, female vocal solo Wherever We Go and See in the Country, poetry and songs February Is Spring, female vocal solo A Long Road to Front of the General and chorus My Blessed Life, the performers reflected their ardent yearning for Chairman

In the DPRK Championships held from Oct. 1 to 29, Juche106(2017), the university sportspersons got wonderful results and raised the morale of the teaching staff and students.
Boxers Ham Jong Hyok and Jang Hyok won the men’s 52kg and 75kg respectively, and judoists Jong Nam Yong and Kim Song Yong ranked third in the men’s 100kg and 66kg respectively.
In the cross-country race (section) of the marathon, Rim Kum Hui took second place, and Pak Chung Il third. In the road relay race (section), Pak Chung Il came second, and Song Tae Gwan, Kim Hak Myong and Choe Son A third respectively. Male handball players won second place.
Meanwhile, boxer Pak Sin Il won the men’s 49kg at the National Inter-Provincial Games 2017.

On the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the founding of Kim Chaek University of Technology, a sports competition of the teaching staff and students was held.
In the events of swimming, volleyball, tennis, badminton, table-tennis, football, basketball, tug-of-war and so on, players and their supporters demonstrated the united might and showed skilful performances.
In the competition of the teaching staff, the College of Mechanical Science and Technology took first place, the Information Technology Institute came second, the Faculty of Resources Probing Engineering came third, and in the students’ competition, the College of Information Science and Technology took first place, the Faculty of Material Engineering came second, and the Faculty of Metal Engineering came third.

This is the family of Dr., Prof. and candidate academician Pak Yong Thaek, chief of the Semiconductor Institute, who lives in flat No. 104 of Block No. 2 in Mirae Scientists Street.
His wife is a teacher of Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry, his daughter-in-law a teacher of the Faculty of Management of Industrial Economy of Kim Chaek University of Technology and his two sons graduated from the university and work as doctors in the Korea General Red Cross Hospital. All members of the family graduated from university by the favour of the State and hold academic degrees or titles. Their university diplomas and certificates of academic degrees or titles are what they take pride in and regard as their family treasures that can be bartered for nothing.
The living room where all the family members gather full of happiness, the study with a lot of books and the minutely-furnished kitchen…
